My iPod won't Charge

The other day I connected my ipod to my ihome and a screen popped up say Charging is not supported by this device. I tried it on my other ihome and my dads ipod wall charger but they same image pops up. I tried turning it off then back on, but since it was soo dead it needed to be charged to trun back on so I tried to connect it to a charger. It would charge until the screen with my passcode popped up. It wouldnt charge after that so i disconnected the charger and reconnected it and the same thing popped up. I tried restoring it and nothing happened. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!
