Hi, recently, i tried updating my system software and it says download cannot be completed, thereafter it restarts automatically and shuts down when the software update tries to install then goes to safemode. I even tried updating through usb, does the same thing. How can i fix a corrupt playstation software?

Have you tried a full factory reset? Backup your saves to PSN, and onto a USB stick if you can, reset your console to factory setting.
You might be dealing with an incredibly rare instance of a bad block in your system software.
Before you take that drastic a measure, try first:
•Rebuilding your database.
•And it's software variant in safe mode.
