will a 2020 MacBook air (A2179) lid fit a 2018 (1932) screen

Hello,

I have a working A1932 with quite a bit of cosmetic damage, ive managed to source an upper case and a lower case but am having major trouble finding a lid for an lcd screen without paying $50 shipping from the UK. i just so happen to have a broken A2179 sitting beside me, i already know the upper case wont work with the A1932 components. but if i remove the A2179 screen from the lid can i just put the A1932 screen into it with no issue?

You do need to use a used display as a virgin unit will need calibration which a used one won’t.

Apple kept the displays consistent across this series so yes you can use the full assembly, review this guide MacBook Air 13” Retina Display Late 2018 Display Replacement and you can see the iFixit part is compatible across.
