Changed screen and now wont start up

I replaced a new screen for my macbook thinking that was the problem after it took a big knock. Now when i switch it on it makes a very strange crackiling shorting sound and the screen goes blank. Before the screen was broken it started fine, you could here the apple logo sound. Now its just this horrible shorting sound.

Hope you can help.

After checking your connections, try disconnecting the Display data cable and see if you get the same sounds. If not, hook up an external monitor and see if you get a picture on it. Did you have any missing screws that could short out things on the logic board?

Go back and check your cable connections. Also, where the cables connect use a magnifier or jewelers loupe to make sure that when you snapped a cable back on that you didn't bend a pin.
