My cars seatbelt indicator is not working properly

Hi

I have a 2008 mazda 3 and a couple years later of when i got it the seatbelt indicator started showing wrong. When i would move the thing that the seatbelt connects it would show that the seatbelt is plugged in when it really wasn't. But now the problem has gotten worse it always show that the seatbelts are plugged in even if i shake the thing that the seatbelts connect it always shows that they are plugged in . If someone knows anything about this please respond!

Maybe go to the Mazda place and see if they can reset it possibly or tell you what would do that for free they may you never know unless you try Was there anything in the manual about that nowadays they don't help you do your brake pads in the manuals of new vehicles like the once did now they tell you to take it to the dealer which is outrageously priced

Hi,

Usually there's a switch contact in the seatbelt buckle that is operated when the seatbelt is inserted

You may have to gently prise the cover off the buckle and check if it has been jammed in the closed position
