Replaced a 3GS LCD with a 3G LCD now no backlight, fixable?

I tried to replace a cracked 3GS LCD with an old 3G LCD and now the backlight is so dim u can only see in direct light!!! Can this be fixed!?? Please help!! :-(

You can repair this problem however you will need pretty good soldering skills as the part is quite small. Most times the problem is "6R8 coil", try googling or ebay for the part or someone who can repair it for you. The other possibility is that you have damaged one of the pins on the LCD connector when you tried to push the wrong LCD on. Pin bottom far right on connector 1 is the pin for backlight.

You need to check that the 6R8 is working on the logicboard, if it is then the problem is the connector (or somewhere in between in which case a jump wire may help)

Youtube has many guides for how to test and replace that part so I'd take a look at them and see if it's something you or someone you know could do.
