Why is Super Mario World missing assets/wrong colors?

The game boots fine, but colors are switched and Mario is a little jumble of demon text. The game functions perfectly fine, just an eyesore. I've tried cleaning the contacts, processors, and console, but nothing has changed. I've even tried re-flowing the cartridge. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi

Iv seen things like this happen on gameboy cartridges and it id usually due to ether damaged traces on the PCB, Loose pins on a Chip or corrosion

The best thing you can do is open the cartridge

Here’s a disassembly guide for that:-)

Once opened make sure that all chip connections are good ,make sure there’s no corrosion and the PCB looks to be in good condition

If any corrosion is found ,isopropyl alcohol is a good cleaner

If any loose pins are found you can resolder them back to the PCB

And if any traces are damaged a jumper wire will need soldered to close the gap:-)

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)
