Air only comes out of AC vents.

I get good heat and air conditioning from my front vents (AC vents), but when I select floor or defrost vents, the air still only blows from front vents. When I push the button for changing to defrost or any other position the light comes on but no change in air flow. What's the problem and how do I fix it? I did have it checked for faults at Auto-Zone but no faults came up

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Error codes may not exist for hvac problems. There may be a faulty actuator. One for temperature, another for directing airflow.

There Are doors that change position in the duct work that dictates where the air comes out when you change the selector it's possible that the selector circuit has came disconnected behind the panel or maybe the power circuit going to the selector has a short, broken line, or blown fuse. How ever it's a fair be that someone has had this problem. Try googling the exact car and exact problem. It could be a common issue and google will usually bring u a video of the repair procedure!

hi @retiredaf

Sounds like a problem with the blend door. Either a faulty blend door actuator or the door itself.

Here's some images from the 2008 Ford Focus service repair manual, that may help.
