Screen display turn full bright and then become dull?

Normally i set my Iphone 3GS brightness to the minimum due to save battery life. Yesterday my screen was in full brightness even when i set it to the minimum. I try restart the the phone and even disconnect the connection 1, 2 and 3 for a period of time as i thought got some connection problem. After connected back all,the screen display turn normal but it became like a disco light.With-in a second , it turn to bright and dull non-stop. what can i do?

water damage , was probability 2~3 months ago , when i drop almost half length of my phone into a bowl of soup but within second i brought it back up.

if this is only just happening without any drop etc, it may be the beginning of the end for the screen. See if a restore etc helps, clean the connection for no.1 with a little isopropyl alcohol to make sure its not old corrosion going on. If it still persists then I'd change the screen (LCD)..if it still there after that then could be the coil for backlight being silly. Try one thing at a time...
