Hello Allison,

What matters is what the message is. Messages have this feature that they suggest with high probability why the failure occurs. However, this does not change the fact that the iPad is a device not designed for repair. This does not mean that it cannot be repaired, on the contrary, but... it requires knowledge, experience and the right approach. Unfortunately (for you and other users) there are few technicians who see anything about this and are competent to work with iPads.

Back to the point, (I'm walking in a dark fog, because you didn't describe much in your post), but I will give you a hint - the screen could be damaged for many reasons. If the child is using an iPad, it may have been dropped, overheated or spilled (I have children myself and everyone has their own iPad --- that is: each of these iPads was either dropped, spilled or overheated because ... roblox). Start with a new lightning cable. Make sure the cable is continuous with no visible damage. It's best to use a different original lightning cable. In parallel, look around for a good repair shop. You won't run it yourself if there is an internal failure (for reasons as above) but note that from most workshops the iPad never comes back repaired (which is sad but true).

-fingers crossing,
