What makes a HD compatible with the MacBook?

Hi,

I want to upgrade my HD on my MacBook.

What makes a HD compatible with the MacBook? I did a lot of changes on Wintel platforms and was wondering if there is any specific attention point for Mac.

Will any 2.5" SATA 500GB drive work?

Yep- any SATA harddrive will work. OS X will probably want you to reformat the drive with a different partition table, but any drive can do that.

This mac uses a SATA drive, I know of none that won't work, Even the SATA II drives will work. Here's a list of drives that iFixit carries: http://www.ifixit.com/Mac-Parts/MacBook#...
