Can I replace a broken socket on the motherboard?

Block Image

Hi, I have the same problem and ordered a new cable for my early 2009 macbook. The problem is the socket which the cable attaches to onto on the motherboard broke off and i cant find it to solder it back on.

Does anyone know where I could get a replacement socket?

By the way this this is not my motherboard but the socket is an exact match.

Thanks

Gerry

Sorry its been a while, i'm looking so solder the inverter cable wire socket to the mother board. All i need is to get hold of the socket.

I'm willing to take the risk soldering it myself. if i don't try the computers just gonna keep gathering more dust. I've got a picture of the socket type but not sure how to post it here

There's a tab in the lower left hand corner of this frame labeled "images". Click on it for directions on uploading.

You need a logic board repair and it's not easy, I certainly wouldn't attempt it. Apple will fix it for a flat rate fee of $280.
