01 Cavalier is over heating

Car just started over heating today, the fluid level light has been on for a little while before that though, i added anitfreeze earlier today. When i pulled over and looked under the hood i didnt hear any hissing from any lines but did notice a leak from what appeared to be the resivore over flow hose coming off the top. My question is dose this hose need to be pluged into the bolt directly below it, which seems to be just out of reach?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The hose should just drop beside the frame it is a overflow hose I would suggest you buy a new radiator cap which is on the overflow container if it is weak it wont hold the pressure needed and just cause the fluid to leak out so low antifreeze overheating

What this sounds like to me is your cooling fan might be unplugged. Check to see if your cooling fans work by jumpering your relay to see it they kick on, if not your fans are probably bad. If your fans do work but they just wont kick on check your temperature sensor for your relay and/or relay itself. If your fans are working correctly but it is still over heating the easy culprit is your thermostat. If you just follow your lower radiator hose to the block its two little 8mm bolts and replace that puppy and that should do the trick.
