First let's see if you're getting any power to the machine. Here's the pinout on the Magsafe on the left. Check with a tooth pick to see if the pins (which move in and out are moving. Next check your voltages with a multimeter to see if you are getting any power. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagSafe

getting power from plug
After doing the SMC reset that Lemrise suggested try to reset the PRAM (restart holding down the command, option & P & R keys hold for three reboots.Next check the output of the MagSafe port: MacBook Unibody (A1342) MagSafe DC-In Board
i tried the smc restart.. nothing, no light, fan, clicking, nothing... totally dead... i think the dc in might be bad..

First troubleshoot step would be to try a SMC reset:
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

nothing happens..no green light, might i add, the computer is off and wont power up, the cord is good, i'm thinking the dc in board... it does nothing.. no light, fan or noises when plugged in

yeah, DC in board could be faulty. You have to remove the logic board to replace it. Be careful with the small connectors and let us know if it solved the issue.
