Dell ultrium 2 data cartridge.

Hi

Can you recommend an external tape drive that I could connect to my laptop to copy this backup tape from? I don’t have scsi port on the laptop.

There aren't any. These tapes and drives are part of computer ancient history. You will find these drives very expensive and only SCSI. A LTO-4 drive can read your LTO-2 tapes but it is still SCSI. Example:

Better to ask a data recovery company to help, if the data is important.

USB tape drives don't start until, I believe, LTO-6 models:

Here is another idea. Do you have the drive fro your tapes? Maybe find an old PC with SCSI port ot the correct type of SCSI - there are many versions.
