How to remove a iPhone 6s sized pentalobe case from an iPhone 8 case?

So I lost my iPhone 8 case screws and I thought a 6s screw would work from one of my broken phones so it went in but now it won't come out. So the threads of the screw have passed the threads inside the phone and now when I screw it there is no resistance so it can't come out.

Insert an opening tool between the screen and chassis above the screw and apply gentle pressure like you were trying to open the phone. With pressure applied unscrew the screw, hopefully it will come out. Done it loads of times with threaded screens.

Hey, LogicalBot

I'm not an expert on phones, and I might not fully understand this myself, but I've got a few tips for stuck screws. There are a few things you can try to get it out.

  • Use the exact size screwdriver.
  • Spray lubricant to loosen it
  • Try the rubber band trick.
  • If none of these work, you have a more serious option that I've used for larger screws. I'm not sure if or how it will work on an iPhone.
  • The Glue and Nut method

As I said before, I'm not an iPhone expert, so some of this might not work. I'm sorry if it doesn't, but I hope it's helpful.

I tried to use the exact pentalobe screwdriver but the screw is so far past the thread on the screen my screwdriver can't grip it strong enough to pull it out and back onto the threads.
