Water Damage (Drooled On/In) - Won't Power On

Issue:

Phone won't turn on.

Parts Tested:

Battery - GOOD

Logic Board - GOOD

HELP?:

If the logic board and battery, both tested in another device, are good - what could be preventing the phone from starting?

What happened?:

A young child got a hold of the phone. They proceeded to suck on the phone (both top and bottom). A bit after this happened, the phone died, would not turn back on, charge, etc. When the case was removed from the phone there was a noticeable amount of drool.

The phone still wouldn't turn on/respond when connected via USB. I decided to inspect the dock port but before doing so performed one final troubleshooting step. I disconnected all cables with the exception of the touch panel, LCD and docking port. The phone powered on when connected via USB. Although I discovered corrosion which I cleaned on the docking port -but I found that when connecting the power cable while the phone was on made it non responsive. Although the capacitators did not seem damaged on the power cable it still did not function after cleaning. I'm confident that when I get around to replacing it the issue will be resolved.

Made another attempt at salvaging power cable. After thorough cleaning with alcohol it functioned properly and this has resolved the issue.
