I spelled some iced tea on my keyboard

I spilled some iced tea (I don't know how much liquid was spelt but not a lot) over my new MacBook Pro 13inch last week and I turned it upside down and dried it as much as possible but I didn't know I wasn't supposed to turn it off for sometime, I had an important assignment that day and I got back to working on my laptop afterwards. its still working and no harm seems to be done but I wanna know if there will be any future damages so I can set money aside. Will it stop working in the near future? will I be able to repair it or should I just start saving for a new one? should I take it to the apple store? Thanks a lot and any answers will be appreciated!

I had a similar problem with my Ipad keyboard. No damage to the circuit board was done, but the keys got sticky, and I damaged them while attempting to clean them.

Thankfully im not running into any problems like that but I read some comments about people who have the same problem as yours and they took it to a store to get the keyboard cleaned so that might be a solution!

Chosen Solution

Your best bet is finding an independent shop who specializes on Macs to open the system to inspect things if your not up to it.

Sadly, Apples policy is a bit harsh if any of the moisture detectors have been set off so not only won’t they repair it you’ll also have a letter A emblazed on the system so in any future service need it might effect their actions.

Doesn't the warranty expires if the device was opened up by anyone? I honestly don't trust Independent shops as they might do more harm than good without any guarantee and most of the ones in my area aren't truly experts. I think I will hope for the best for now and start putting money aside just in case I need a new one. Thanks a lot!
