The previous posts were very useful in disassembling the laptop down to teh mother board. Now I need to replace the existing jack which was completely broken and I need to know where I should conenct the +/- connectors of the new jack. It appears that 2,3,4,5 are all connected to the outer connector, but I see no left over connector connecting pin 1.
Is this a good question?

Ah, I see. So Joe, if you have your motherboard and the part disconnecting, you can not identify where the new one goes? Did you get the right replacement connector?
