Why is my head set cutting out and making a loud feedback on the mic?

Block Image

Hello, I have a Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 70p for my ps5 and I have had it for about 3 weeks. However, The microphone cuts out and my friends periodically hear a loud noise - sounds like a hurricane or tornado. The mic doesn't work unless the jack is set in a particular position and the microphone makes loud noises, which is not background noise because I have tried lowering the mic volume a bit and it still happens.

Is this fixable or do I have to take it apart? Please help! thanks

@carlos938 this "mic doesn't work unless the jack is set in a particular position" as well as this "the microphone makes loud noises" sound slike a connection issue. I would go ahead and replace the connector. If you post a picture of what your connector looks like we can possibly help you with that. It might even be possible to re-solder the wires. It all depends on the connector. Edit your QUESTION and add pictures, using this guide Adding images to an existing question

Hey! I added the image of the connector. Hopefully, it's a good photo. Thanks!

@carlos938 use something to hold the pin in the center and see if you can unscrew the blue cap from the connector. Move it to the right to unscrew. It's hard to see if it is plastic cast or screwed on. If it is glued, then you will have to cut it off without ruining the wires.

Usually cheaper headsets will break easily and the mic might need replacement you should try to get use the Warranty or get a replacement
