What is this piece called?

I am wondering where can I get this piece of the phone? It is right next to the sim card, the little white thing felt apart, it supposed to lock the connection number 3 of the screen? I haven't taken it apart, but it looks like a whole big piece, is it a whole piece?

Well in other case my screen is cracked maybe I can't see anything because its cracked or the connection is broken?

I couldn't get the Image thing to work on here so I hosted it off the site hope thats ok/

Mastergohan12..if that is a photo of your board then I wouldn't worry too much. Try putting the cable in and see if it still works. I have had plenty of boards with the lock broken off and no other problems with earpiece/proximity. Trying to fix it just because the lock bar is missing is not the best answer..unless the entire connector doesn't work. It isn't a job for the amateur solderer, you need a very fine solder tip the prongs on the connector are tiny as vincent says.

I put in the screen and everything with it and attended to turn it on but the screen won't turn on, could it be possible that since my screen is cracked and possibly lcd damaged that the screen is no longer turns on? I've ordered a assembly so if this is the case I will try it once it arrives then

Try checking connectors again. If still black try connecting 1&2 and not 3. Sometimes damaged connector 3 causes problems.

This is indeed the number 3 connector socket. Inhere goes the proximity sensor / ear speaker flex-cable.

I have bought one of those on eBay. If I remember right it was about 5 dollar. But to replace this you need some tiny soldering iron tip and some experience soldering this.

It has 5 or 6 connections on each side that needs to be soldered down to the logic board.

Good luck

Besides your phone should be able to work without this connector.

BUT: then you will have to call with a handsfree set or loudspeaker. And your screen won't turn black when you are calling to prevent your ear is pushing any buttons.

Even with the little connector broken will the phone work?
