Why is my iPhone Xr restarting randomly?

Recently my phone has started to restart randomly. It started with about every 30 mins, but it has since then gotten worse. I thought it was the battery so I carried it in to be changed. The problem stopped for like a couple of hours then started again. I've tried restoring via itunes but after it finished the restore and says the phone will restart and connect by itself, it restarts but an error comes up that says failed to detect or sometimes connect to iphone. I noticed that there were some panic logs, I'll add the picture here. Could anyone advise me as to what the problem might be? (At the moment it barely gets to the interface/lock screen)

Hi Bobby,

Hmm, yeah, that's not good. One of our contributors, @flannelist, has written a Wiki page on kernel panics.

iPhone Kernel Panics - iFixit

Here's what it has to say about the kernel panic you've encountered.

AppleSocHot: Hot Hot Hot

Sometimes software developers have more fun coding in what occurs in times of error than other things because they are likely to be the only ones that see them. This error is pretty straight forward. Your CPU is not just hot—it's Hot Hot Hot.

  • This specific panic refers to an electrical line between the Power Management chip and the CPU. It could in fact mean your CPU is getting too hot. It could also mean, a board level issue with this line.

I'm far from being an expert on board level repairs for iPhones, but I have heard of problems with the Power Management chip that required it to be replaced. That's something that requires expert level microsoldering expertise and equipment.

Hopefully we can get some of our more expert contributors to jump in here and offer suggestions, because all I've got for you is to take it to a shop that handles board-level repairs.
