Hi, The fan in the laptop is making a weird sound! I can’t really describe it. I really need help because I have very important things on it!

Unfortunately the best thing you can do here is replace the fan as fans aren’t really meant to come apart to be fixed
The fans motor,blades or baring might have failed hence the strange noise

Hi @hellomacos,
The fan part # is 5F10S13907.
This may give a bigger range of suppliers.
Also is it that the fan is "noisy" or just operating at high speed and the OP hasn't heard it before when it does this? If high speed it may be an entirely different scenario to follow up on.
If noisy an old trick is to remove the label from the hub of the fan and put a single drop of light machine oil on the bearing. Sometimes there's a cap over it as well that is easily removed, other times just the label, depends on the fan. Just a thought.
