Originally white display is all white with one small hole fora camera, mostly (and also on ifixit.com) it is possible to order a white display assembly with a black dot for ambient sensor... can anybody explain this?

I suspect the iFixit photo exacerbates the transparency of the covering over the sensor hole due to strong light used to photograph.
My guess is that once it is installed it wont make too much difference either way. Go with what ever you like or can afford.

The only way to get original is with buying used or by getting it installed from a Apple provider.
