No display on main screen or external monitor.

Hello

I currently have a Macbook A1181 (2.0Ghz on board 820-1889-A) that does not display on startup either on the main screen or on external monitor. I sometimes have a mini glimpse of monitor lightning up after pressing power button, but only for miliseconds.

The status light does come up, the fan spins and the superdrive sound can be heard but nothing else happens afterwards. (no Apple startup sound, but may have been disabled by previous owner)

I tried the following :

- Clear PRAM and SMC

- Changing RAM

- Changing the complete screen assembly with a one working for sure

- Tried different Macbook charger

- Verified that all cables are seated

Even still, no display.

It sounds to me like a motherboard problem, but maybe someone more experimented can help me out.

In the case of a logic board problem, is there someting to do to get it working or is the mainboard completely out of order ?

Thank in advance for your help and long live the ifixit community ! :)

Thomas

Are you getting a green light on your MagSafe?

by

I have 3 different Magsafe, but not one that i can trust for sure :

1 x 85w generic, with light that stays up after disconnecting (acts erratic)

1 x 60w Original with very faint green light

1 x 60w Original with very faint green light, sometime solid green

The 2 original are used and i've had them both for less than a week, so i cannot say that i do trust them but they work on CD 1.83Ghz.

Do you think that could be part of my problem, cause i now have same error with 2 differents C2D 2.0Ghz macs.

Thanks for your continuous help !
