NFC not working. Could front camera interfere?

Hi everyone!

My NFC stop working, I was reading anothers post and I have detected some problems.

The first problem is the standoff screw the holds antenna extension, I tried to tie it with a rubber and didn't work. The second problem is the sensor cable of the front camera, I accidentally ripped the cable. I bought another one, but it will take a while to arrive.

Can this sensor cable interfere on the NFC? Is it possible check the NFC with a continuity test?

I changed the antenna extension but it didn't work either and I check all the screws. I'm out of option, could you guys help me? Sorry about my english.

Blocking the signal from the NFC chip and its antenna will prevent it from woking. From what you describe you need to replace the screw as its part of the electrical pathway. Basically, the mount screw is a part of the signals pathway.

The Yellow outlined chip is the NFC chip

While not very obvious the mount points along the top are also connections to imbedded antennas within the body shell so each screw needs to be present other wise you don't have the needed electrical pathway. In fact corrosion can also effect things here.

Is it necessary the screw to be in touch with the edge of the hole or the bottom? Maybe both? My problem is that I put the wrong screw and the hole became bigger, and now the correct screw don’t fit, it is possible to fix it?

@sidneijunior - The case holes have two surfaces the top were the metal plate touches as well as the threaded hole. But not in the way you are thinking! The bottom part of the threaded section is where the antenna is connected. So if you bottomed out the screw you likely damaged the internal connection within the case.

@danj In top part the connection it is ok. But I think the bottom part on the chassi was damaged, I looked the X-ray image and I don't now if it is possible the repair the chassi conection in the bottom. Do you know if it is possible the repair?

@sidneijunior - Replacing the housing is the only option

by

@danj Sorry for the delay to answer you. I changed the housing, but the problem continues, I suspect that the problem is in the NFC module, I did a continuity test with the multimeter and it signals that it is having a connection. Is there any other test that I can do to find out if the NFC module is faulty?

I marked in red the points where I placed the multimeter.
