Why does my Ctrl key turn on for no reason?

I bought an HP Pavilion g6 1060 laptop 5 months ago, and ive been facing some problems with it. the most annoying one is with the Ctrl key function turning on by itself and for no reason.the Ctrl keys are perfectly free. the only way to turn them off is by restarting the laptop. Ive tried installing all the HP updates. but it still happens from time to time. What do you think this problem is about? and how can it be solved?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Might be worth taking the KB out and seeing if there is any signs of liquid damage. This KB will be a membrane type so if liquid gets between the layers it will cause false keystrokes.

You may need to replace it. Most HP laptops have a 3year warranty so check before you pull it apart. a quick call to HP support may save you time and money

These docs may assist in disassembly

UPDATE

Just a thought - it is it a "sticky Key" function setting "Ease of Access" in Win 7?

I to have this problem and you dont have to turn it off i have not been able to identify the key's which u need to press. Yet one day when i was right in the middle of something an had 5 minutes to go this happened an im ashamed to say i did mash the keys in frustration.....

after i mashed the keys it simply was fine this leads me to the conclusion an action key maybe involved seeing as i actually have all my hot-keys turned off. .

so there is 2 conculsions i can declare from this 1. it's some sort of hot key or 2. the control key is recording false strokes all.

Sounds like liquid damage. 90% of all keyboard problems are related to this.
