Replaced Display, Screen is Washed Out

I replaced the entire LCD/Display after dropping my iPhone 4 on a tile floor and cracking the front glass. After powering up, everything works perfectly - but the screen is washed out.

Could this be a faulty connection somewhere? Or do you think the replacement glass / LCD is just a dud?

I want to get my money back (or a new set of LCD/Glass) if it's that - so any thoughts / feedback would be appreciated!

Check the obvious - that the brightness is not all the way down in settings. Revisit the installation and ensure that all connectors are seated correctly.
