Does anyone know why the iPad Pro Heats up so easily doing mild work?

So I am a drone operator, who utilizes the iPad Pro as a screen for my drone work. While using it, I do tend to work outside a lot, thus the summer temps are partially the reason to the iPad heating up but sitting in an air-conditioned car is pretty strange. I want to know if heating up is fairly common or just an issue of my device. I am just using the DJI Fly app. I find it reasonable that the M1 could just be that hot of a chip, but the entire iPad overheats and locks-up quite often it feels like. I don't feel the heat is good for the battery either.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi

The M1 is a laptop/desktop chip so I would expect it to get warm when doing medium to heavy tasks but I wouldn’t expect it to get hot

To reduce the heat I would close apps that aren’t in use to take load off the device as the more the device has to do the more heat it will output

If it’s still getting uncomfortably warm I would ask apple support and see if it’s still in warranty or maybe see if it’s a known issue that my be resolved in a upcoming version of iPadOS

Hopefully this helps

Any questions please ask

Thanks:-)
