Why won't my Mac recognize my screen as an internal monitor?

I recently replaced my cracked screen with a new one that I bought from amazon. The full screen, not just the LCD so it was a do-able repair. The display seems to work, BUT, there is no brightness adjustment available anymore. It doesn't show up under display preferences. No slider, and the Touch Bar adjustment doesn't do anything. It is as though it is treating the new internal screen as an external monitor.Screenshot2

Yep, this is a common issue! Apple threw us a gutter ball!

A new virgin display assembly needs to be calibrated for the brightness, camera, & TrueTone to work properly!

Now reach into your pocket do you have the needed magical tool? NO!!! And you can't get it either!!!

You'll need to visit an Apple Store or authorized service center for them to calibrate it. Sadly, most won't do it as its not the part assigned to your system and Apple wants to lock out back of the truck parts sales. If they are willing it will cost you a bench fee!

OK, so is there a way I can replace the display without this mess??

Yep! Getting a USED part! Its calibration will have been done so no worries!

Sorry fo the bad news ;-{
