I want to check my water indicators.

Hi all.

My iPhone 4s got wet the other day (not fully soaked or immersed but wet). It stopped working properly for a while but some time in a "Thirsty Bag" seems to have sorted it.

I would like to check the water ingress indicators; in case it plays up again I dont want to waste my time if the indicators have changed.

1. Where are they?

2. What do they look like a) when normal/ b) when water detected?

3. Photos would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Well I sent it to Apple and they replaced it so the question is now moot. Next time it's an Aquapac for me when out hiking.

There should be 3 in the phone. One in the headphone jack, one in the dock and some in the inside of the phone. If they're activated, they will be pink if they're lightly soakked and red if it was fully submerged.

To check the internal sensors, you're probably going to need a pentalobe screwdriver. This is the driver you need.

You cant without replacing parts

the 'pinkish white/red' is the water damage indicator.

even if you do, the board itself may also be damaged.
