PS3 Power Supply Dual Voltage

Oldturkey - I am wondering the same as the original poster. Thank you for your help, but we need to be sure they work for model CECH-3001B. The posts you referred to are older (one doesn't specify a model number, one refers to an older model number). I am sure you can appreciate that we don't want to take the chance and end up with a $300 paper weight. I am in the military and just got stationed in Germany, which is 220V. Getting a plug adapter is easy...but I don't want to take the chance that Sony decided to swap out a universal with a 120V only supply.

Thus if anyone knows with 100% certainty (pics would really put my mind at ease), I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.

Drackore, I am certain, with all the research I have done, that the PSU is dual voltage. Sony has gone that route to stay economical and, with a dual voltage PSU, can satisfy most of the world market with one console. I totally understand the way you feel about it, and I would feel that way too. Check on all the links on the above answer, and if you are still doubtful, best is to open up the PS3 and take a look at the PSU. It will say 110/220V. You are definitely in the right to be cautious, it is a lot of money to see it go up in smoke. I hope you and your family will have a great time in my old Vaterland and travel as much as you can. Now is the time to make memories for you and your family. Thank you for serving our great nation.
