Why can I sometimes not type correctly or touch the bottom of screen?

This started happening after I cracked the top left corner of the iPad.

Sometimes, but not always, when I type, it doesn’t work right.

Example:

I tried typing “example text”

I got “eaple. tet”

Whenever this happens, I can also not interact with the bottom inch and a half of the screen.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It sounds quite likely that you've damaged some of the circuitry that controls the touch screen function, i.e., the digitizer.

Unfortunately, on your model of iPad it's not possible for the average person to replace just the digitizer glass, as it is fused to the LCD display, so the only option is to replace the entire LCD / digitizer assembly.

There are several sources you can buy a replacement screen from, including right here on iFixit.
