Not charging or recognising original battery

I did a frame swap and the frame came with the charging port and wireless charger installed. Before the swap it would only charge wirelessly and not connect or charge via lightening. I was hoping that a new port could resolve this problem.

After moving all the parts across I turned the device on and found the battery very low and was not detecting it to be a genuine battery even though it was the same one I was using before.

I had to bring the charging daughter board across from the old phone and was quite difficult to separate from the old flex cable.

I did try putting the original connector cable back in, but this presented the same problem of no charge and not recognising the battery.

Is it possible that moving the daughter board to the new cable damaged it or isn’t making proper contact? It only appeared to fit in one spot. Or the battery has been damaged on the way out and causing issues?

Answer this question I have this problem too

You have to see battery pin might be loose contact or the SWI line is not connected properly.

I bet the ‘new’ port is aftermarket. Buy a genuine Apple charge port and try it. You can buy pulled ones from other phones. If you replace the chassis your best to replace everything and I mean everything. Every ribbon, the lot because of apples serial numbered parts garbage.

You are correct that the new one was not original. It came fitted to the frame I was putting it into and choose that route as I was having issues with it only wanting to wireless charge. As mentioned in my post I tried to put the old one back in with the same problem of 0 charge.

I suspect that removing the control chip off the original cable may have been the problem. Note to self, replace with cable that has chip on it or bring the whole one across intact.
