Trackpad + Keyboard not working even after replacement of flex cable.

Does the keyboard and trackpad share the same connector? I'm not sure why it possibly would, but I'm out of ideas. 2020 13" Retina Intel w/ 4 TB ports boots to welcome screen but neither the internal keyboard nor the trackpad have any response. There is no "click" or haptic feedback in the trackpad either. Before I dive into ordering a replacement trackpad, is it even possible to lose keyboard functionality from a faulty trackpad? External devices seem to work fine, though I've only used the external magic trackpad so far. I spent a lot of time in my early career repairing iDevices so I'm very aware of the sensitivity of the connectors, especially the flex cables - though I've yet to run into an issue.

Any help is appreciated it. It's a top-spec 2020 and I wouldn't mind having that in my arsenal. Haha. Thank you in advance.

They do share a common power rail!

Did you have a liquid spill or have a drop or bang?

Same problem with my Macbook Pro 2015. I just replaced flex cable after looking up in the internet but trackpad and keyboard is still unresponsive. I was working on Jupyter Notebook when both keyboard and touchpad became unresponsive in front of my eyes. I thought the system hanged so I restarted with no benefit. Tried resetting SMC or whatever, no benefit. Any idea what should I do now? I can't go to Apple Store as they're gonna charge a lot of money. I want to fix things on my own.

@Anmol Sahu - Did you have a liquid spill or have a drop or bang?

@danj Nope! It was in lap and I was working in it when it suddenly stopped working. No water or bang or anything.

@Anmol Sahu - One of the issues this series encounters is poor cooling when pressing it with heavy process loads. Placing it on your laptop could block some of its vents. Not likely at the exact moment you had it on your lap, days and weeks earlier could have started things off. The fans and the heatsink fins often get clogged up as well with dust which also pushes things. As such things can breakdown to excessive heat.

Using your external keyboard and mouse lets check your system using the onboard diagnostics. Restart your system and press the D key to enter

Let's see if we get a clue from diags. Let us know what the error code returned.

I would also recommend installing this great thermal monitoring app TG Pro its one of the best out there.
