Wont charge, wont turn on, not recognised

I am trying to fix an iphone that has been thrown. it has a cracked LCD and it wont charge with mains power or through the PC, also it doesnt bring up iTunes when plugged in. I have replaced the charge dock and checked all connections, Battery is dead, but thats obvious because it wont charge. Left on charge for an hour, but still nothing.

Is there any damage to the actual board? Perhaps the replacement dock you received is defected? I wouldnt rule it out as being trash yet. These things a pretty robust, you just need to troubleshoot it properly with known working parts.
