Broken ir connector(?), possibly to run without?

Hi,

I have successfully managed to detach the what i think is the ir connector from the logicboard. And therefore I can not connect the wire with 5pins onto the logicboard.

Can anyone please confirm that the cable is intended for the InfraRed function on the Mac mini server 2011?

And please say that I can use my mac mini server without that cable!? Or must I send it to service?

Thanks in advance!

Fredrik

It is hard to give you an answer without pictures of what is broke off and where it is located on the board. You have the ability to trace where the wires that connected to the header lead. If you are not sure what they go to, we can't be either.

If you can do without sleep and some other functions - they are, I believe, included on that sensor.

Was wondering if anyone had pin assignment info for the IR header, and sensor info. Thanks in advance!
