Spacebar intermittently works only in the middle only with firm press

Suddenly yesterday my spacebar stopped working as it used to. For it to work I have to really press it hard, which still not always makes it respond. The problem seems to be in the key's plastic cover rather than keyboard itself, because after removing plastic cover and cleaning it and space under it, spacebar seems to respond perfectly with just the rubber dome.

How do I fix the spacebar key?

Upd: Under a little investigation I've found out that the problem is in the loose dome which keeps moving away from the sensitive area during printing. What's the proper way of fixing it in place?

Hi

You may be able to fix this by getting a spacer (like a small piece of plastic or foam to help press it down harder)and placing it on the plastic space bar (underneath)

If that doesn’t work

Has the battery been replaced as sometimes a pit of the keyboards internals can get loose and will need replaced,I saw Hugh Jeffreys doing a video on it once

Hopefully this helps

Thanks:-)

I've tried testing it out and found out that the actual problem is in the cap itself being loose underneath and it just keeps moving outside of the sensitive area during printing. What is the proper way of fixing it in place or at least without damaging the keyboard?

Did you make sure the little metal brackets are in the correct place:-)

Yeah. I actually solved it and it turned out to be dumb simple - the problem was that cap shouldn't come off freely, so I just glued it back and everything works fine now. Although I wonder if I would've brake the whole thing if I applied glue to the keyboard rather than bottom side of the cap

Glad to see you fixed it:-)
