iStat Pro Report - Rear Main Fan 0 rpm

iBook bottom has always been extra hot. Recently replaced battery and DC in board. Runs great, but needs a thermal blanket. Should I replace the fan, or is more troubleshooting needed first.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Found an excellent app - G4FanControl 0.6.1. Resets threshold settings. iStat now shows 8200rpm. Much cooler too.

Do you hear the fan when you watch videos on youtube or when you do intensives jobs ? If no then replace the fan. Cheap repair.

Most likely that istat is just not compatible with your iBook..

Their website advises that it doesn't work with most PPC Machines..

I highly doubt that it's a false positive.
