Screen brightness goes all the way down when zooming in on photos

I have an issue with a customers phone where the screen brightness goes all the way down when zooming on on photos. We have tried all the usual software updates and even full resets but the result is the same.
Have seen this on multiple iPhone 11 Pro Max by now - Anybody with similar issues?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Sounds like it could be a power draw issue. In Settings > Battery > Battery Health is your device running in peak performance? If not, is your maximum battery capacity in the 80s? I would imagine having to render the zoomed in photo and power a 11 Pro Max display would take a lot of power. If it’s low try replacing the battery and seeing if it improves.

If not has the phone been disassembled? I’ve seen 11s take display IC damage during repair. That’s all I could imagine could be causing it, good luck!
