My Playstation 4 will only read discs after eject and insert

Help! my Playstation 4 hasn't been working properly for a few years now. Wheneve I want to play a game with a disc, I have to eject and insert it back in. If I start up my console and just start the game with disc, it won't read the disc. I literally have to eject it and slide it back in in order for it to run normally. Does any one know this problem and know how to fix it?
