4th Gen iPod Classic won't reach full charge

i recently bought a used 4th Generation photo iPod Classic and the battery has been acting strange and i don't know the why, like it wouldn't reach full reach full charge and sometimes would say the battery is low even though it already has been charged overnight. i tried leaving it charged for days and it still isn't charged fully. does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I would start by replacing the battery.

Being a used device you don't know how it was treated or what condition the battery is in.

It is better to start with a known good battery and check what happens then.

ifixit also has replacement batteries in stock. Check the parts link in the guide. Be aware of the shipping restrictions that apply to shipping batteries in the USA. Alternatively search online for 616-0206 battery to find suppliers that suit you best.
