Power button doesn't operate after replace of volume button

I replaced the volume button on my iPhone3GS and had to tear the phone all the way to the volume part. I assembled the iphone back and everything seemed to work great but the power button. It clicks but it doesn't operates. Any clues on what went wrong? I'm going back to tear down the phone again to see if I did something wrong which I think I went over the guidelines religiously. Any clues?

pmarin,

I think your idea to take the phone apart again is the best course. These cable connectors can be finicky at best and have certainly been the cause of some customers headaches. While you are re-assembling the phone again, inspect the connectors and sockets to be sure there i no dirt, debris or bent pins. Clean the connectors if necessary with a high content rubbing alcohol (minimum 80%) and just take your time. If the power button was fine before, I'm sure a careful reassembly (and clean if necessary) will set things right. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
