New display says that touch ID is not recognized

There is an additional ribbon on the new display that was not on the old display. Is this supposed to be configured in as well somehow? Otherwise I don’t see why it’s not working.?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

What model is your iPad? Did you transfer over the home button?

by

It’s iPad Air 2. The button transferred well, meaning I don’t think anything was damaged in the process.

Btw it is the wifi only model

As mentioned by others, the home button has to be transferred from the original screen to the new screen as this part is serialized to the logic board. If you did transfer and it still displays the message, check the connection of the home button to the screen and the screen to the logic board. It is also possible that the new screen is defective.
