Hi,

have same issues with my macbook early 2009 Macbook PRO A1297 2,66Ghz

After changing the upper case my backlight does not work properly...

I noticed, that covering the sensor near the camera turns the keyboard backlight on....BUT I CAN'T CHANGE THE BRIGHTNESS (NO F5 AND F6 BUTTON WORKING!!)

cable was checked and is connected....

does anybody have any suggestion, where the problem could be...... when i push the button, it's greyed with a prohibitory sign...

any idea?

thanks in advance

Problem solved:

covering the light sensor next to the camera --> f5 f6 work (dark)

if it's bright outside --> f5 f6 are disabled

thank you anyways
