Inverter Cable conncting to motherboard difficulty?

Howdy! I asked a question a couple weeks ago about a faulty backlight display. So, after a couple weeks, and a couple inverter boards and cables I think the problem has been identified. After installing a second new inverter board and cable, I decided to turn on my MacBook while it was halfway apart, to further troubleshoot why my display was not being lit up. When I wiggle the inverter cable around, it will flicker more and more, and at certain angles, it actually stays on! So, my question is, can I replace the tiny part that the cable plugs into on the motherboard? The little plug in that is, or would I have to purchase a whole new mother board?!

Thank in advanced!

Try using a small pair of tweezers, or a small pin to pend the pins slightly apart. This will make sure that they are making contact to the contacts on the cable connector. If this doesn't work, let me know.

Short of some intense and risky soldering, you can't replace the slot that the cable plugs into. Chris' advice sounds like your best bet to me.
