The strap is broken on the side of the headset…Is it replaceable?
My dog ate the strap on my OQ v1 headset. How do I replace it?

Unfortunately @camblair, there does not seem to be an easy way to remove the broken head strap. The core of the issue is that the earpieces are fixed to the head strap in a way that it requires you to actually open the device up to a fairly substantial degree. There is a guide that shows you how to disassemble your quest that I will link here.
The guide talks about the head strap at around the 40 minute mark, but I suggest watching the whole video to get the most out of it. I will also add that if you do end up following the guide, to write a guide. Your findings could be very helpful to other users with similar issues.

Thank you! Is there somewhere I can buy a new strap if I decide to dive in to that tear down?
Off the top of my head no. But I'd check Ebay for the head strap assembly. Although, you might have a battery chance of getting an intact strap from an Oculous Quest that was broken and is being sold for spare parts.
This is a common problem, they apparently see it in their forums and support requests all the time. Unfortunately it has to be sent to Oculus for repair.
