OLED Display and TrueTone … IF377-051-4 …

I noticed that the repair guide for a screen replacement includes a screen clone step that restores TrueTone.

First. Do I accept the fact that TrueTone is gone forever? Next. Is this cloning process effective and restores TrueTone? No repair shops seem to have the cloner device furthermore they state it isn’t necessary. Finally. If this cloner is not a scam, would I expect iFixit to have these for order?

Thanks. IFixit is a great resource.

It's not necessary, majority of my customers don't even know what truetone is, so won't even notice if I never transferred it over!

I would say, any repair outlet who can't be bothered to fork out £70 to easily transfer truetone, won't be taking much more care with your device with other proper steps!

As a one off for yourself to repair, you can live with it, especially if you've never used it before, or keep hold of the original display and find a reputable repair tech who will transfer the data for you at a later date?
