Replacing CPU to 3Ghz

I would like to replace CPU to 3Ghz.

The current cpu is 2Ghz Core 2 Duo.

Is it possible?

I know of no documents out there that would support upgrading the processor to a 3GHz. On some of the older Macs there was info on what resisters needed to be altered and what CPU's can be used but I have not seen any of this for the intel iMac's

Unfortunately, the processor is permanently mounted to the logic board in this model, so a replacement is not possible.

Bullshit, the cpu is mounted on a M Socket and you can unmount and upgrade a Core Duo iMac to a Core2Duo 2.16GHz 667Mhz FSB iMac.

The issue after that is that the Core2Duo CPU's are on P Sockets and require different voltages while running on a 800/1066 FSB. These are not compatible with the M Socket and logic board of the 2006 iMac.
