Have you tried to reset or even to restore your iPhone?

Oldturkey has pretty much THE solution, reset or restore. There is no fixing (or even replacing) a gyroscope/accelerometer unless you have a microscope, very tiny robot arms capable of soldering, and a lot of know how. If you are still under warranty I would definitely take advantage of that. If the reset/restore doesn't work and you have no warranty, you may unfortunately be fishing for a new logic board.

Now seriously this just worked for me. My screen stopped rotating after I dropped it. So powered off and on still the same. Phone was in a padded case so I firmly flicked (hit ) it against a hard floor on all four sides, turned it over and repeated .. Now works fine.

Yes, I repeated Gary's suggestion and gave the phone a firm tap and screen rotation restored. Unbelievable but true.

Craziest thing ever. I dropped my phone today and it got stuck on portrait and my compass stopped working too. Did everything I could and couldn’t sort it.

Came across the reply above and wondered if it was a joke comment.

Anyway gave it one slap against the wall and it worked instantly. Checked compass and it was working again.

Honestly couldn’t believe it was as simple as that.

Make sure you have a strong cover case though as it could make it a lot worse without it.

Worth a go if you are totally stumped.

Mine is an iPhone 7.

What gary grayson said was true, gyroscope, magnetometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor etc stopped worked when it fell on the floor, then i turned my phone off which was in a thick case and flicked gently on a folded handkerchief against a concrete wall , it worked! all of my sensors started working again as usual. I thought it would cost a lot for the replacement of the logic board. this simple trick is a big brain move...!

That screen does not have a portrait lock button on my phone. I don't know where to find it.
